Sketchbook challange...

i'm a bit late for the september issue but i made it none the less.
The topic was "unfurled" and i spontaniously thought of (naturally) fern.

I don't just wanted to sketch the fern...

i wanted to "feel" the process of unfurling.

 So i cut the fern out of paper ( which took several days because my children needed constantly watching after) then painted it and folded the wet paper while the colour started to dry.

It was quite tricky and at first i wanted to trash it... but i'm stubburn as mule...

and in the end, i think it worked out.  :-)
